Negotiation is a valuable and necessary life skill. Negotiation involves empathy and compromise. Children who learn to negotiate will acquire and learn the importance of these abilities. Children who learn to negotiate with their parents, as well as with other adults and children, enhance their confidence, self-esteem, empathy and social relationship skills. There are endless opportunities to teach children negotiation. Children who are taught negotiation in a respectful manner also much more likely to return this honour and respect.
